Job Title: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt



Summary Manages all activities related to operations of company services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, communicates, and maintains delivery rate quotes to RV and manufactured housing manufacturers.
  • Provides guidance to dispatch terminal managers regarding daily tasks, customer service, employees, and goals.
  • Contributes to annual budget and monthly forecast planning in regards to sales and EBITA goals. Communicates with customers to determine these goals continuously throughout the fiscal year.
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinates activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum utilization of human resources, owner operators, and equipment (if applicable).
  • Reviews operating reports (P&Ls, margins, agings, transit claims, etc.) and directs the resolution of operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delivery delays.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Coordinates the establishment and closure of terminals; travel may be necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervises terminal employees in the dispatching, invoicing, and contractor payments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; terminating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience


  • Four-year certificate from college or university; 8 plus years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, with an emphasis on trucking and or fleet operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Possession of a valid Class A CDL, preferred
