POSITION OVERVIEW Manager, Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for leading day‑to‑day HRBP support for assigned manufacturing sites or functional client groups. This role ensures consistent execution of people strategies, strong employee relations outcomes, and effective partnership with operational leaders in a fast‑paced, frontline manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner, this role acts as the primary owner of HRBP delivery, balancing employee relations, leader coaching, talent processes, and workforce planning while escalating enterprise or high‑risk issues as appropriate.
This role will require the ability to build excellent working relationships with a diverse group of team members. They will need to act as a partner to their local manufacturing teams in all aspects of the position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Business & Operations Partnership
- Serve as the primary HR partner for plant managers, site leadership, and functional leaders.
- Translate people strategy into actionable HR plans that support operational goals.
- Advise leaders on performance management, workforce issues, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support operational leaders through staffing changes, production shifts, and organizational adjustments.
Employee Relations
- Lead and manage employee relations issues across assigned sites, including investigations, corrective action, and terminations.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and compliant application of policies and procedures.
- Coach leaders on effective and respectful employee management practices.
- Escalate high risk, precedent setting, or senior leader issues to the Senior Manager, HRBP.
- Partner with Legal, Safety, and Compliance teams as needed.
Talent, Performance & Workforce Planning
- Support performance management processes for hourly, salaried, and leadership populations.
- Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, staffing strategies, and succession readiness.
- Facilitate talent discussions and development planning at the site or functional level.
- Support onboarding, retention, and engagement initiatives for critical roles.
Field Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and coach field HR Team Members supporting assigned sites or functions.
- Ensure HRBPs operate within defined escalation, governance, and risk frameworks
- Review and approve sensitive HR decisions made by local HR field team members.
- Build HR capability in technical skills, judgment, and employee relations decision making at field level.
Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness
- Support organizational change initiatives such as restructures, process improvements, or site expansions.
- Manage the people impact of operational changes, ensuring clear communication and employee support.
- Identify recurring issues or themes across sites and elevate insights to senior HR leadership.
Compliance, Governance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and HR records.
- Monitor workforce metrics (turnover, ER trends, engagement) and partner on action plans.
- Contribute to audits, reviews, and risk mitigation efforts.
Other duties and project assignments.
Up to 40% travel required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior HRBP leadership
- 2+ years supporting manufacturing or operations‑heavy environments preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing multi‑site, hourly workforce populations
- Strong background in employee relations, investigations, and risk management
- Working knowledge of employment laws
