POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for planning and managing transportation of manufactured housing or RVs to meet compliance and safety standards. Manage financials and adjust business to maximize efficiencies and profitability. Supervise terminal staff.

PERFORMANCE FACTORS

Operations Management

• Provide technical transportation knowledge of specifications for products and customers in various hauling situations
• Oversee terminal performance for outbound and back haul shipments
• Manage terminal operations to maximize and achieve financial targets in accordance with appropriate policies and standards using available information and reports
• Adjust approved aspects of pricing to address variances in profitability
• Research and resolve account receivable issues
• Recruit drivers in specific pre-determined situations

Safety and Compliance

• Maintain current knowledge of industry specific certification, compliance and regulatory requirements
• Promote safe work activities and ensure drivers and terminal staff adhere to established DOT regulation and safety standards.
• Investigate and manage claims and accidents
• Knowledge of Canadian DOT regulations where applicable

Customer Service

• Serve as a troubleshooting resource to resolve problems concerning customer or driver issues
• Develop and maintain customer relationships with drivers, manufacturers, and dealers

Leading People

• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees
• Manage and coach employees regarding goals and daily tasks while consistently enforcing work rules and resolving issues in a timely manner
• Coach and provide performance feedback for employees

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Positions reporting to the Terminal Managers are:

Receptionist

Pull-In Drivers

Assigned Driver Fleet

Education and Experience

College degree or equivalent experience

2 - 4 years of experience - transportation beneficial

1-2 years management experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of transportation industry and regulations

Analytical ability

Critical thinking for independent decisions and problem solve

Basic math computational skills

Written, verbal and interpersonal communication

Planning, organizing and time management

Ability to manage people to achieve results

Develop and build team

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation software

Customer service acumen
